The Best (and Easiest) Roast Chicken Recipe

Ready for the easiest and most impressive dinner that only takes 5 minutes of active effort from you? Trust us, make this once and you're sure to have ridiculously easy and delicious baked chicken on repeat, just like we do. 


 

The Recipe


Ingredients:

  • 1 Whole Chicken (4-5 lbs) 
  • 2 Tablespoons Dried Herbs de Provence or Italian Seasoning πŸŒΏ
  • 1 Lemon πŸ‹
  • 1-2 Sprigs of Fresh Rosemary πŸŒΏ
  • 1-2 Sprigs of Fresh Thyme πŸŒΏ
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon each of Salt and Pepper, to taste

    Note: the seasonings on this are totally customizable to your taste.

Kitchen Tools:


Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees (Fahrenheit).
  • Mix all spices in a bowl to make your seasoning blend. Set aside.

  • Remove chicken from the packaging, discarding the gizzards inside the cavity. 
  • Place chicken in a Dutch oven or other oven-safe roasting dish, patting dry with paper towels.
  • Drizzle olive oil all over and work it into the chicken with your hands.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning blend all over the chicken and evenly spread it with your hands.

  • Cut the lemon in half and stuff it into the empty cavity along with the thyme and rosemary sprigs. 
  • Tie the chicken legs together with kitchen twine.

  • Place in the pre-heated oven uncovered and bake for 75-90 minutes* until the internal temperature of the chicken reads 165-degrees (Fahrenheit). 

  • Let the chicken rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
